Dr. Asesor was born and raised in the Philippines. She received her medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in 1989 and she completed her Internal Medicine residency at the S.U.N.Y. Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn, NY. She then completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at the George Washington University Medical Center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.

In addition to English, Dr. Asesor speaks Tagalog. She and her husband Flor have been blessed with three daughters Anna, Christina and Gabriella. In her free time, Dr. Asesor enjoys doting on her daughters, swimming and trying to learn skiing and ice skating.
