Prescription Refills

To request a prescription refill online, please visit our 'Prescription Refill Request'  Page.

Prescription Refill Requests generally require 2 days notice. 

If you have not been seen in our office for longer than 12 months, you will be required to make an appointment with one of our physicians before we can refill your prescription.

If you are unable to request a prescription refill on our 'Prescription Refill Request'  Page, you may call 703-370-9002 or send a faxed request to 703-370-2849.  Our phones are especially busy in the mornings, so it's best to call after 11 am. 

When requesting refills, please provide the following information:

• Patient's name
• Date of birth
• Phone number
• Pharmacy Name and phone number
• Name of medicine
• Dosage and schedule
• Name of Primary Care Provider

Patient Requests 

Alexandria Primary Care now allows patients to make routine appointment requests,  prescription refill requests, and referral requests online. Please be sure that the entire request form is complete.  We will respond to you by email or phone, acknowledging receipt of your request, on the same business day if we receive your email before 3 pm.

For an appointment request you can expect a call from our office within 1 business day. You should always call us on 703-370-9002 if you need a same-day appointment.

For a prescription request please allow 2 business days before calling our office to inquire about your prescription. Please do not make duplicate requests for the same medication to both our office and your pharmacy. This creates additional work for our staff. We respond promptly to any refill request! If it has been more than a year since your last appointment you will need to be seen in the office for a refill. If you make a follow-up appointment the doctor will be asked if a short term renewal can be authorized to prevent running out of your medication in the interim.  

Referral requests require 2 business days and will be authorized if you have previously been evaluated in our office for the condition. You will likely need to re-schedule your specialist appointment if you need the referral in less time. Referrals usually are valid for 90 days. Please defer your request to within 90 days of your appointment, if necessary. We cannot back-date referrals to cover specialist visits prior to the request for referral.
